The capture, storage and use of personal data
The Salisbury Military History Society (‘the Society’) is aware of and committed to all relevant laws and regulations relating to the collection, storage and use of personal data. This includes, but is not limited to, the Data Protection Act 1998, the 2016 EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and additional guidance from the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
The Society captures personal data for the purposes of informing members and enquirers of the Society’s activities and for administering membership subscriptions. These communications may include, but not be limited to, upcoming Society events and those of organisations deemed relevant and/or similar by the Society. The Society will never share personal data with third parties.
Data subject enquiries
Those data subjects for whom the Society maintains personal data – for example, members and enquirers – have the right to have their personal data removed from our database. They may also enquire as to how their data was sourced.
Removal of data
If a data subject wishes to have their details removed from the Society’s database or enquire as to the source of their data, they should contact the Membership Secretary via salisburymilhist@gmail.com
